Florida Condo

I built a Bed Bath and Beyond in St. Augustine, FL, in 2003. This was the first time I saw the place and I fell in love with it, right from the start. It’s a lovely city, with incredible history and it had great beach life.

Throughout the coming years, I visited the area many times, staying in hotels on Anastasia Island.

During one of my visits, Ryan and I looked at a condo that was for sale at Seaside at Anastasia. I loved the idea of owning a place of my own here, but didn’t think I would be able to afford a condo on the beach. However, this particular visit was in May of 2009 and the housing market had dropped considerably during a financial recession the previous year. I made an offer of $260K and it was accepted.

The condo was a little outdated, so I completely remodeled it. I spent several months working on it, updating all of the appliances and fixtures, and added features that made it easier to maintain, since I would not live in it year-round.

I didn’t spend a lot of time there because I was always working. But, when I did, I always had a great time. I have some great memories from that place. I eventually sold it in October of 2018. I used the funds to purchase my house at the World Golf Village.
