50th Birthday

I always wondered if I was going to make it to my 50th Birthday. I had quite a few family and friends who were not so fortunate. But, I did make it and I am thankful for it.

I had planned to have a huge party at my house to celebrate this milestone. As it turned out, Glenda had developed breast cancer and she was scheduled for a mastectomy, on that day.

I sat down with Ryan and we discussed the situation. We both agreed it would not be a good idea to go forward with the party, so all plans were canceled. I considered several options to still be able to mark the day in some special way. I decided it would be a good idea to hire a professional photographer for a few hours and get him to take photos of me and Ryan on this landmark day.

It turned out to be a great idea, as you can see from the photos.
